National Cleanliness Campaign

Call & Vision

The Prime Minister of India has given a call for "Swachh Bharat" as a mass movement to relaize Gandhi ji's dream of a Clean India by the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi in 2019.


The main objectives of this campaign are:

  • To create massive public awareness for Cleaning related work places, public places and homes
  • To ensure participation and action for cleaning
  • To improve quality of working & home environment

  • "Swachhta Shapath" (pledge) on 2nd October
  • Launch of Cleanliness Drive on 29th September 2014 at headquarters of GBPIHED
  • A web page on ENVIS Website (GBPIHED) has been created to update all important announcements and activities
  • Awareness and launch in different units and their campuses of GBPIHED in various Himalayan States
  • Mass awareness generation through e-mails to participants of 12 Indian Himalayan States for 1st Himalayan Young Researchers Forum
  • Awareness by local newspapers
  • Other related programes/activities
  • Thematic Cleanliness Drive (01-15 March 2016)
